Build a Snowman Playdough Activity Cards

Do you want to build a snowman? Let’s do it! This Build a Snowman Playdough Activity for is preschool, pre-k, and kindergarten. Students will choose a learning center task card and create a snowman by following the “recipe”.

This resource allows children to practice the following skills:

– Counting
– One-to-one correspondence
– Number recognition
– Number quantity
– Set recognition
– Spatial relations
– More/less/same concept
– Language
– Social emotional
– Fine motor
– Following directions

Print these activity cards out on cardstock. For heavy use, lamination is recommended. Supply students with playdough, googly eyes, buttons, sequins, acrylic jewels, small bush or tree branches/sticks, small scarves cut from cloth or felt, and fuzzy sticks/pipe cleaners.

Be sure to facilitate conversation during this activity. Ask your students to describe their creations, and ask them which items they used more/less/same of.

Cookies make everything better, so be sure to grab this Decorate a Gingerbread Cookie Playdough Activity for preschool, pre-k, and kindergarten. Prompt students to choose a learning center task card and create a gingerbread cookie by following the “recipe”.

Children will have a sweet time while strengthening the following skills:

WINTERTIME SPIN & COUNT SHEETS (COLOR 2/B&W 2)

Wintertime Spin & Count

Attach paperclip spinners with round head fasteners (brads) to the sheets. Provide pom poms, vase gems, mini erasers or some other small manipulative for students to use. Young learners will spin, identify a number and place that amount of items on their sheets. As children pick up and place each item, encourage them to say its number name (one, two, etc.). Older children may fill all three lines, while younger ones may only complete the first or second. Once finished, have students count all of the items on their sheets.

Provide mini erasers or some other small manipulative for students to use. Young learners will place a numbered group of items on its corresponding card.
