COUNTING APPLES MINI BOOK (1-10)
Children will cut out the pages of this book and have teachers/adults staple them together. Students can count and write the number of apples on each tree, and then color the pictures. Be sure to keep this activity developmentally appropriate. Some children may need help with cutting and may need you to write the numbers for them. Others may want to count and write their numbers before putting their own pages in numerical order.
FALL NUMBER TOWER COUNT AND STACK (COLOR 4 B&W 4)
Provide learners with Unifix Cubes or MathLink Cubes. Learners will build towers using a numbered group of cubes. Each tower should be placed on its corresponding numeral spot. Encourage younger children to use one-to-one correspondence while counting. Older children can use this activity to practice set recognition.
ALL THINGS FALL MEASURING CARDS (COLOR 10/B&W 10)
Supply learners with Unifix Cubes or some other small manipulative to use as a measuring tool. Students will measure the length of the fall items. They may then use the Measure and Record worksheet to log their answers. Be sure to discuss which item are longer, shorter, or the same length.
RAKING LEAVES – SUBITIZING LINK UP 1-10 (COLOR 40 TASK CARDS/B&W 40 TASK CARDS)
Cut out the cards and use a hole punch to punch out the marked areas. Supply children with plastic learning links. Students will then link the corresponding number cards together.
NUMBER SEQUENCING CARDS/STICKS (COLOR 1-20/B&W 1-20)
Prompt children to place the cards in numerical order. You may also wish to present different groups of cards (e.g., 4,5,_,7,8) and have your preschoolers determine which number is missing. The cards are also a fun way to teach ordinal concepts (first, second, third, etc.).
Hot gluing the cards onto jumbo craft sticks makes this activity extra fun for little hands.
AUTUMN BINGO (COLOR 4 MATS & 25 DRAW CARDS)
Provide a small manipulative for children to use as bingo markers. Five in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally) equals BINGO!
This activity is a great way for children to practice their visual discrimination skills.
APPLE ALPHABET CLIP CARDS (COLOR 26/A-Z B&W 26/A-Z)
Supply your little learners with clothespins and encourage them to clip each letter’s lowercase partner.
FALL STORY SEQUENCING (COLOR 3 SEQUENCING SHEETS & 12 SEQUENCING CARDS/B&W COLOR 3 SEQUENCING SHEETS & 12 SEQUENCING CARDS
Three stories are included: Baking a Pumpkin Pie, Raking Leaves, and Making Applesauce. Using the sequencing sheets, learners will place the cards in order according to stage.
This activity is also a great way to teach ordinal concepts (first, second, third, etc.) The sheets and cards are color coded for easy use and storage.
SCARECROW LETTER SPIN & COVER (COLOR 1 SPINNER & 4 GAME SHEETS/B&W 1 SPINNER & 4 GAME SHEETS)
Cut out the spinner card and attach a paperclip spinner with a round head fastener (brad). Provide vase gems, mini erasers, pom poms, or some other small manipulative for students to use as markers. Dot markers may be used for the black and white sheets. Young learners will spin, identify the letter, and cover it on their sheet. Continue until the sheet is completely covered. When using this activity in small group, children will take turns spinning. First player to cover his/her sheet wins. Trade cards and play again!
WORKSHEETS (11)
With worksheets, young learners will color a scarecrow by numbers, sequence numbered pumpkins, sort apples by size, work to recognize numbers 1-10, and determine the beginning sounds of some fun fall items. Plus, so much more!
